Biography
Mr. Ramirez emigrated to the United States in the early 1990s and has since partnered with organizations dedicated to the service of the immigrant community. Working with the Passaic Hispanic Information Center (HIC) as Director of the Immigration Program between 1993 and 1999, he coordinated the network of Hispanic agencies for the New Jersey State Citizenship Campaign, making thousands of immigrants be U.S. citizens.
In 1999, together with other prominent community leaders, they founded IACO Immigration and American Citizenship Organization, with the mission to orient and assist immigrants, regardless of nationality, race, religion, gender, age, academic background, or economic situation, in their process of adaptation, stabilization, integration, inclusion, and development in this society.
Over the 20 plus years under the direction of Mr. Ramírez, IACO has developed and sustained programs and services to effectively fulfill its mission, emphasizing Direct Services to the immigrant community. As such, the organization has become a necessary and reliable resource for the diverse community of New Jersey.
Mr. Ramírez represents IACO in the multiple projects developed with the public and private sectors, including government agencies, consular delegates, non-profit organizations, companies, professionals, and educators, to coordinate actions to accelerate integration and inclusion of immigrants further.
As immigration expert, Mr. Ramirez, is regularly requested as a speaker in conferences, radio, and television programs. His opinions and points of view are routinely sought after by journalists of major newspapers in the area.
