Hern\u00e1ndez earned her BA degree in English from\nInter-American University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and her MA degree from\nRutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Ms. Hern\u00e1ndez enjoyed a successful\nforty-five-year career in higher education. She recently retired from Passaic\nCounty Community College, where she was a vice president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2004, she was appointed by Gov. McGreevey to the New Jersey\nState Board of Education and served as its President for two years. She has\nalso held positions of leadership at organizations related to her profession,\nand was also the Vice President for Fund Development for the Board of Directors\nof the YWCA of Eastern Union County. She is also a recent past member of the\nBoard of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directors of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey and served as\nits Chair for three years.&nbsp; Ms. Hernandez\nwas a delegate to the 2011 and 2014 Girl Scouts of The USA, National Council\nSessions. It should also be noted that she has been the first Latina to serve\nin these positions of leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Hern\u00e1ndez has served on various boards, including the New Jersey State Board of Education, the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, and in various organizations related to her profession. She was the first Latina to achieve positions of executive leadership in all of these organizations. Currently shares his experience as an educator through his inspirational books and motivational lectures.
